In 2019, the Guitar Festival celebrated its 26th year of continuous organizing, with magical concerts in the magnificent venues of Hermoupolis, attended by a large and enthusiastic audience.
The festival began on Monday, July 22 at the crowded Auditorium of the City Hall with Angeliki Kokkini (voice) and Panos Dramitino (Guitar) on a night dedicated to the work of “Federico Garcia Lorca”.
The next day, at the Cyclades Gallery, “Duo Capriccioso” with Cleopatra Kirtata – flute and Athanasia Nikolakopoulou – played guitar from Latin America while Adnan Ahmedic from Bosnia and Herzegovina gave a recital with his transcriptions on famous melodies.
On Wednesday in Piazza Ano Syros, singer, guitarist and composer Peter Gerendas from Hungary sang ballads from around the world and his own original compositions impressing with the rich sound colors of his voice and guitar.

The next day at the Art Gallery, the children’s guitar orchestra “Music Box”, taught by Christos Sela, was thrilled with the wonderful playing and synchronization of young children, while in the second part the amazing virtuoso guitarist Michalis Sourvinos impressed with his dynamic interpretation.
The festival closed on Friday July 26th with a magical night at the magnificent area of the Holy Monastery, by the sea overlooking the “Vaporia” area of Hermoupolis with the winners of the Competition and the festival’s guitar orchestra directed by Angelos Nikolopoulos.
